LionRock Maritime helps harbor and terminal towage businesses to reduce fuel consumption by lowering sailing speeds during light sailing mode. The product has been tried and tested in around 15 ports in North West Europe and the US with very good results. “We see a lot of fuel saving potential through our product in Latin America too, given the often long distances and mobilization times between ports and terminals. We are happy to announce that Matthias Reinarz joins us as commercial representative to drive our growth here.” says Rick Broersma, MD of LionRock Maritime.
Matthias Reinarz adds “I was first introduced to LionRock’s fuel reduction product when I was still heading the operations at Ultratug. The fact that it does not require any hard- or software installation, yet could clearly show results in fuel use reduction immediately drew my interest. I am excited to join and help reduce unnecessary fuel use and thereby CO2 and other emissions”
Matthias joins LionRock after accumulating comprehensive experience in the ship agency businesses with Ultramar and up to recently leading the harbor towage operations at Ultratug in Chile. He was born and grew up in Chile where he learned Shipping Business Administration, has a postgraduate degree in Business Administration from the Adolfo Ibañez University in Santiago, and completed his MBA in Shipping and Logistics at the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark. Matthias brings in a deep knowledge of the Latin-American shipping markets. Being a native Spanish speaker and fluent in English and German, having lived in Uruguay and based in Chile, he is well positioned to take the best care of customers in Latin America.
